From September 25th to 29th, we hosted our partners from Spain, Greece, Cyprus and Denmark with whom we cooperate within the framework of the Erasmus Plus project “TIPS”. This project is intended to train parents of children with autism to acquire strategies for developing social interaction skills in children with autism.

Since there is a lot of information about autism today, the training began with harmonizing views on autism according to the latest scientifically proven facts, and special attention was paid to understanding autism through a workshop on understanding cognitive theories. Parents were also introduced to the procedures for teaching social interactions to children with autism.

The training also tested the educational platform, animations and games for children with autism, which will soon be available online in Macedonian and can be used by parents and professionals.

The group of parents from Macedonia are part of the project for the development of social skills, which is supported by the City of Skopje for a period of 6 months. They had the opportunity to supplement and develop their skills through training, but also through communication with parents from other countries.

In addition to organizing the educational part, we had the opportunity to introduce the cultural, traditional and natural beauties of the city of Skopje to the guests, through visits to restaurants with traditional cuisine, a visit to the Millennium Cross on Vodno and a visit to Matka and the Vrelo cave. After the completion of the project, all results, along with the manual, will be available on the website https://tips-project.eu/.
