The main goal of the project is to provide appropriate support to children with autism spectrum disorders for the purpose of adaptation to school, through individual and group treatments for the development of certain social and educational skills.

In the past period, we have successfully implemented some of the planned activities. We started with group and individual work with five children with autism who started in first grade in September of this year. During the individual and group classes, we work on the development of social and educational skills that the children themselves need.

The other goal of the project is aimed at educating parents, teachers and assistants who are actively involved and have the main role in the teaching process of students. To achieve this goal, in April we organized and successfully implemented three trainings for the development of visual support for students with autism.

These workshops were intended for the parents of the children themselves, their teachers and educational assistants. Through these workshops, teachers and assistants had the opportunity to learn about the specific characteristics of people with autism, how to adapt teaching, which methods and visual aids they can use, and how to create an environment that will influence the improvement of students’ social behaviors.

Through successful cooperation with parents, teachers, and assistants, we hope for the successful adaptation of students in the school environment. The project is supported by the Ministry of Political System and Inter-Community Relations.
