We started the first activity in 2025 with the organization of the training within the HeAlth project in Belgrade from January 21 to 22. The event was hosted by the “Hiljadu želja” foundation in cooperation with the Institute of Mental Health of Serbia.

After Sunčica Petrović welcomed the attendees, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jasmina Trošanska introduced them to the characteristics, challenges and strengths of people with autism through an interactive lecture, and then Prof. Dr. Mirjana Đorđević spoke about the barriers these people face in the healthcare system.

An interesting discussion developed among the attendees, during which we had the opportunity to hear the personal experiences of doctors and nurses, the ideas of medical students and the suggestions of parents of people with autism. Our partners from Autismo Burgos spoke about mental health and the organization of the treatment of people with autism in the emergency department and the hospitalization process.

Professor Dr. Nenad Glumbić spoke on the challenges of oral health and preventive healthcare, and Aleksandra Faka from Vimodo practically helped the attendees to create samples of materials to support health services for people with autism, such as social stories, visual supports, token systems, and made a presentation on different communication devices.

After the meeting, on the 23rd, the team held its third transnational meeting, at which future activities in the following period were agreed.
