Training to support people with autism in the labor market
A multi-day training on supporting people with autism in the labor market was held in Benicassim near Valencia, Spain, from 22-28.06.2024. Three of our members attended the training and had the opportunity to expand their knowledge and exchange experiences with other participants in the training.
The training itself focused on the competency model and on recognizing the skills and strengths of people on the spectrum that can be useful in the labor market, as well as on developing effective strategies to support these individuals.

During the classes, we had the opportunity to explore various communication strategies adapted for individuals on the autism spectrum and techniques for improving social interactions, understanding nonverbal cues, and nurturing long-lasting relationships.
The training included interactive exercises, the design of inclusive materials, the creation of support tools, and individualized plans, all with the aim of facilitating the entry of these individuals into the labor market.
After completing our daily duties, we had the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful sandy beaches, visit the surrounding landmarks, and take walks in the beautiful Valencia.
